NBK has released the 'Generation C' deep groove ball bearings, which it says feature an improved contact geometry between the rolling elements and the ring raceways, making them ideal for electric motors.

According to NBK, the Generation C deep groove ball bearings can generate 35% less friction and 50% less noise.
NBK says efficiency, noise and vibration levels are key design and quality criteria for plant operators using electric motors. Energy efficiency is mostly determined by the power loss of the internal bearings.
According to NBK, the Generation C deep groove ball bearings’ new design improvements mean they can achieve higher running speeds, while also increasing the life of the bearing.
The Generation C deep groove ball bearings also feature a modified HRS seal made from nitrile butadiene rubber with modified double lip geometry. The axial contact between the inner ring and the seal provides more effective protection against contamination or loss of grease and less frictional torque.
